Is sales tax included in the price of the loft?
Yes. All taxes are already included in the rental price.
How long is the lease term?
The lease is for one school year, which is the Fall and Spring semester, or the day you move in until the day you move out.
Do I need to notify Lofty Ideas, Inc. if I move rooms or dorms?
You must notify Lofty Ideas, Inc. if you move and include if you are taking the loft with you or if it is staying in the original room.
If I change rooms, do I have to move the loft myself?
You can move the loft yourself after you notify Lofty Ideas, Inc. of the new room location, or you can have a Lofty Ideas, Inc. contractor move the loft for a fee listed in your contract. If you move the loft yourself there is no charge.
What if I decide I don't want the loft when I get to school?
You can cancel your order for no charge during the week of residence hall move-in as long as the loft has not been set up. If the loft has been set up, or it is after the first week of move-in, you may receive a refund as stated in your loft lease contract.
If my dorm room has a bunk bed in it, what happens to it if I rent a loft?
The bunk bed will be disassembled and most of it will be used with the loft. The remaining pieces can be stored in the back of a closet or behind the desk against the wall.
How is Lofty Ideas, Inc. related to Texas A&M?
Lofty Ideas, Inc. is the only approved vendor by Texas A&M to rent lofts to residents on the A&M campus. A portion of every rental fee is returned to a Texas A&M student organization and goes toward funding for Housing programs and activities.
Is the loft adjustable in height?
No, the loft is not adjustable. The loft is set at a fixed height (5 feet from the ground to the bottom of the loft).
Is there a guardrail included with my loft rental?
No. But you have the option to rent one for an additional fee. We strongly recommend getting a guardrail if you are at all uneasy sleeping on the top of a bunk bed or have ever fallen out of your bed.
Can the lease be transferred to another student in the event that I move out early?
Yes. Please contact Lofty Ideas, Inc. with the other students contact information; and we can transfer the lease. If you do not contact Lofty Ideas, Inc. with the information of the student that you are transferring the lease to, you will still be responsible for the loft.
